In 1961, Vivian Nicholson chanced upon $4 million when her husband won the amount from various football pools. Of course, this became big news when this happened. When the reporters asked her what she was going to do with the cash, she said that she was going to, “Spend, spend, spend.” This, of course, raised a few eyebrows. But true enough, she bought to her heart’s content. When her husband died, the money dwindled. She married four more times but died an alcoholic. One could only suppose that she dank her sorrows away.
