Carlos’n Charlie’s

On their last night on the island, lots of the students decided to go to the popular nightclub called Carlos’n Charlie’s. It was there that Natalee ended up spending a lot of time with the 17-year-old Dutch guy named Joran van der Sloot. Although there were reports that the group of students had seen van der Sloot a few nights before that in other areas around town, it would be that night that he and Natalee would really spend time together. And while they were together that last night, they looked like they were getting along quite well.

Leaving The Bar Together

According to a few witnesses, people saw Natalee leaving Carlos’n Charlie’s with van der Sloot and two of his friends, Deepak and Satish Kalpoe. Joran was said to be an honor student as well at the International School in Aruba, and was quite popular with the ladies for his supposed good looks. It was reported that around 1:30 a.m. on May 30, the day before the entire school group was scheduled to fly back home to Alabama, Natalee hitched a ride with the 3 boys back to the hotel, never knowing that this would be the last time anyone would see her alive.
