Because of the amazing work of Kelsey’s parents, Greg and Missey Smith, there is now a federal law that mandates cellphone companies to give necessary information for missing or kidnapped children. Not only is the law followed by 22 states, the foundation has also given a number of safety awareness seminars. The Smith’s have also created the Safety Whistle Program, which buys and distributes 7,000 whistles to those who attend the seminars.
