There, in the middle of Lake Berryesa, a massive pit opened in its once pristine and mirror-like surface, a perfect circle unlike anything the drone pilot has ever seen before. The surrounding water funnelled down into the deep and dark abyss which was its center as if it was being pulled in by some powerful force from within. The vortex looked like it came from the pages of a science fiction novel and Evan knew then that he needed to dig deeper in order to find out how something like this could seemingly appear out of nowhere. The largest lake in Napa County, California, Lake Berryessa is a man-made body of water formed by the Monticello Dam and is cradled within the bossom of the Vaca Mountains. The reservoir was named after Jose Jesus and Sexto Berrelleza, two of the first settlers from Europe to colonize the Berryessa Valley in 1843. It is a popular destination for fishing, waterskiing, jet skiing, boating, canoeing and kayaking, with several resorts and marinas operating along its banks.
