Built all the way back in 1889 by a Scottish engineer using mostly hemp ropes, these days, the Capilano Suspension Bridge in Vancouver, Canada is much more stable. It was rewired with wire cables in 1903, then incredibly bought and sold a few times over the years until it’s final sale in 1983, having already been broken down and rebuilt once more in 1956.
