Lake Pontchartrain Causeway, Louisiana
Lake Pontchartrain Causeway is made of two bridges, with the longer one being 23.83 miles long. They were built using 9500 concrete pilings, whose basic purpose was to get from one side of Louisiana to another. Given that the bridge looks like it’s basically going on forever, it makes you wonder if it’ll just give in half way through the drive. Plus if you even have the slightest bit of aquaphobia, then this bridge is really not for you, since it’s considered the longest bridge to sit over a body of water.
