“By some miracle, Kody had found Michelle’s purse near the area where they were hanging out before Paddock decided to bring his reign of fire down on the crowd below. It would seem that her other belongings were there, but her phone was not. He had gotten her number earlier so he attempted to give her phone a ring.”

Someone Else Answers

Apparently, someone had been able to pick up her phone and they answered it when Kody called. They said that they were in Planet Hollywood and that Kody could get the phone from them at any time, and that they would wait for him to come. He knew if he wanted to eventually find Michelle again, her phone would be something that might help him succeed. So he made the journey by foot to the hotel.
