His Family Didn’t Like Her

Jill may have been able to charm Gerry with her sweet and Southern ways at first, but Gerry’s family was not impressed. In fact, it was said that Gerry’s brother, Doug, noticed that Jill seemed extra interested in Gerry’s finances, something that the couple would even argue about. Doug decided that he needed to find out more about this mystery woman who seemingly stole his brother’s heart, so he hired a private detective to look into her past. And what he was going to find out was enough to scare him and tell his brother that the woman was anything but the sweet and Southern belle she made herself out to be.

Finding Out About Her Past

Jill could no longer hide the facts of her past life from her husband. The private detective had uncovered basically every horrid detail of her former life. Not only was Gerry her 8th husband, it was discovered that she had a number of aliases that she used, as well as many other issues with the law. And to make matters worse, her last divorce hadn’t even gone through yet, which meant that he was married to a woman who happened to still be married too. All of this was just too much, and Gerry had enough. He annulled their marriage in the hopes of leaving Jill with nothing. But then she would sue him over the bed and breakfast, which they now owned together, and it would turn into a bitter feud.
