At that time, she was just 17 years old and not only would she drop out of high school, the two would decide to elope on July 24, 1961 without permission from their families. But like many spontaneous decisions like this, their marriage wouldn’t last.

It Was Over Quickly

Less than one year later, in March of 1962, the two would decide to get a divorce, with Jill filing for a restraining order against Larry. The divorce would be finalized on the grounds of ‘cruel and inhumane treatment.’ But this would also end up leaving Jill a high school dropout who could only get work in a factory. And it just wasn’t the life she wanted for herself.
