The Police Were Suspicious

Supposedly, Jill had ‘discovered’ Clark’s body when he never showed up for work that day. She had called the police and told them that her husband had been murdered. She claims she had found him with two gunshot wounds to the back, which sadly proved fatal. And given her reputation with sleeping around, and the fact that people knew the couple had a rocky relationship, authorities were already wary of Jill, believing that she was truly the one responsible for Clark’s death. Unfortunately, they didn’t have enough evidence to arrest her at the time.

Finally Running After Her

By the time that the police decided that they wanted to pursue the homicide with Jill as their main suspect, she was nowhere to be found. When they caught up to her, she had taken her kids and gone back to her hometown in Louisiana, found an attorney and, as reported, “Coit checked herself into a psychiatric hospital after [William]’s killing and police were never able to question her.”
