One of two cities in the state of Missouri to make the list, the other being St. Louis, Springfield’s property crime rate of triple the national average makes it one of the worst cities to live in in the country. Together with this, incidents of violent crime are also a problem, as more and more families in this city struggle with everyday finances with 40,000 Springfield residents living under the poverty threshold.
