Due to this city’s high crime rate, businesses are looking elsewhere to set up base, causing a scarcity of much needed jobs to sustain Daytona Beach’s 67,000 residents. There are a lot of qualified workers in the area but the lack of employers has left 6.3% of them jobless, making Daytona Beach one of the poorest cities in the US.
