Giving Them A Proper Funeral
There was a funeral march on March 9, 1959, to honor the hikers after the first few were found. Many of the students and other Russian officials had wanted to give them a proper goodbye, not only because of the highly mysterious events that occurred, but especially to help their family and friends pay their respects to the dead trekkers.
