In the heart stopping climax towards the end of the third and final installment of the Back to the Future series, we see the iconic DeLorean time machine in the year 1885 being pushed by a steam locomotive in order for it to reach 88mph before running out of track and plunging into “Clayton Ravine.” It hits the targeted speed, activating the Flux Capacitor and transporting the car AND the locomotive into the present 1985, avoiding the deadly fall.
