12. “No, I am your father.”

In the penultimate scene of the second installment of the original Star Wars trilogy, Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader battle with light sabers in the bowels of Cloud City on Planet Bespin. The young Jedi is seen holding on for dear life after the Sith lord slices off his hand and refuses to take Vader’s following the imperial commander’s revelation of his true identity. Skywalker chooses to let go, and falls in what seems to be a very deep chasm.
