Martin Is Found Guilty

The trial would take 22 days from start to finish, and despite Martin’s non-guilty plea, as well as his defense team claiming that Michele’s death was accidental, after all the evidence presented, Michele’s children finally got the answer they had wanted for so long. He was found guilty in the death of Michele by giving her a mixture of prescription drugs, drowning her in the bathtub and making it look like an accident. And unbelievably, his reputation was further tainted with testimonies that Martin had killed his own mother, brother and worse yet, sexually assaulting his own daughter Alexis. And as if this wasn’t bad enough, he had supposedly laughed when they read out his verdict. Apparently the truth about Martin MacNeill was out, and it was far from anything that anyone had believed to be true.

Martin Gets Sentenced

Martin was living out a 15-year sentence to life, along with another sentence of 1 to 15 years for obstruction of justice. Then, with the sexual abuse case against his daughter, he was given an additional 1 to 15 years. This all meant that the soonest time he could get out of jail would be in 2031. But sadly, Martin would choose to take matters into his own hands, and he ended up committing suicide while in jail. He was found unconscious, apparently killing himself using ‘a hose and natural gas line that was intended for a heater inside the greenhouse to kill himself.’
