Everybody Loved Him

Librescu would not only become incredibly respected, but he was incredibly liked as well. It would be said that both staff and students alike loved him. He would constantly be asked to join symposiums and given grants to continue his studies. Yet throughout it all, he would continue to teach, giving 20 years of his life to Virginia Tech before one sociopath with a gun took it all away.

He Really Cared For His Students

One of Librescu’s old students, Yang Kim, shared his memories about his former professor. “He was so passionate [about] teaching. He loved his work. He was really caring for his students.” Kim would also share what had taken place when they heard Cho’s gunshots in the hall. He explained how Professor Librescu just ‘jumped to action.’ He said, “We all tried to survive. But he stayed and tried to help the other students that were in there.”
