My Coma Dreams

As he recovered, Hersch composed a concert called ‘My Coma Dreams,’ based on eight dreams that he recalls from the time that he happened to be in his two month coma. Many doctors found it particularly interesting since not everyone remembers their time when in a coma, but apparently, Hersch was even able to write music based precisely on it. While comas are unusual and highly unpredictable medical conditions, doctors continue to study those that have had the ability to come back from this type of abyss in the hopes that they may discover something new in this alluring and mysterious medical anomaly, and they will continue to do so while there is still so much to learn and understand.
