Gary Dockery
33-year old Police Officer Gary Dockery from Walden, Tennessee had been working a shift alongside another cop when they got a call to answer a domestic violence report. The day was September 17, 1988, and when Gary was headed up to knock on the front door, someone opened the door and shot him in the head. His partner attempted CPR while waiting for the ambulance to arrive, praying that Gary would make it through.
They Removed 20 Percent Of His Brain
In an attempt to save his life, Gary would undergo surgery where 20% of his brain had to be removed due to the damage that was done. But despite all their efforts, the doctors still couldn’t remove the bullet itself, which wistfully, left him in a coma. And he would remain that way for over 7 years.
