30 Years Later

Annie’s husband wouldn’t let Annie go. In fact, he took her home from the hospital and watched over her all on his own. It was a long and arduous journey, but he loved his wife too much. Then on October 14, 1992, Annie was going to make an extraordinary recovery. Her husband shared, “I was lying beside her in bed when she sat up and said, ‘Turn on the television. I want to see the I Love Lucy Show.’ It was like a dead person come to life.”

Bittersweet Recovery

While Annie’s recovery was astounding, her reintroduction to the world was not an easy one. Annie could hardly believe that 3 whole decades had passed, nor the fact that she happened to be 79 years old already. So much had changed, including her very own body. It was said that she fell depressed with how much she had missed over the last 30 years. Yet despite that, it’s still a miracle that she even woke up in the first place.
