Off-Duty Marine, Brendan Kelly

Renee met 21-year old off-duty Marine Brendan Kelly, only two hours before the last act of the Festival was about to begin. Jason Aldean was the last Country star and the last act to take his place on the stage of the Festival on that fateful Sunday night. Renee invited Brendan to join her at the concert, and it would turn out to be the best decision she would ever make, although she couldn’t have known it at the time.

Wanting A Closer Look

Enjoying their time at the concert and knowing that Jason Aldean was the last act to perform, Renee and Brendan made their way closer to the stage. Just as they found a spot that they were happy with, they began to dance while listening to the music. And that’s when the chaos ensued. What they originally thought was fireworks, turned out to be the sound of an automatic weapon shooting into a sea of people.
