A little bit after the shooting, Renee’s sister got a call from their dad at around 10:30 that night. He had also attended the festival in Las Vegas, but he and Renee hadn’t been together. He shared with Jenn that there had been a “massive shooting,” He was able to get out of the concert and hide behind a car, but he wasn’t sure about Renee. They were all frantically attempting to get in touch with her.

Getting A Message From An Unknown Number

Jenn, later on, shared with CBS News, “My sister wasn’t answering her phone. I thought she was dead.” But then all of a sudden, she had gotten a message from a number she didn’t recognize. It was Renee texting from Brendan’s phone. She was safe, but she had lost her phone in their frenzy to get to safety.
