A hefty price to pay
The Easters paid a hefty price for causing harm to an innocent family. Jill spent 60 days in prison, while Kent spent 87 days. Their actions also affected their law careers: Kent’s license was suspended, while Jill was disbarred from practicing completely. “They lost everything over this innocuous incident,” said Chris Duff.
Triumphant and vindicated
Kelli came out triumphant after her innocence was proven. The Easters were ultimately ordered by the court to pay Kelli $5.7 million. Money certainly won’t heal all wounds, but Kelli and her family were finally able to move on in peace after enduring such a harrowing ordeal.
