Carefree and independent
Kelli grew up in horse country near the San Gabriel Mountains. Growing up, she lived a bohemian life and worked whatever job she could find. She tossed pizzas, fixed skates at a skate shop, and waited tables. She even flew to Hawaii on impulse where she stayed for two years. She was a very independent and carefree woman from the beginning.
From a carefree individual to a committed family woman
But by the time she was in her mid-30s, she married Bill, a tall, soft-spoken man who owned a restaurant and played in a blues band. Kelli said that Bill made her feel calm. For years, they tried to have a baby. And when Kelli became pregnant, her priorities changed. All she wanted was for her and her family to be safe. Nothing was more important.
