An overwhelming sense of worry

Officer Shaver wasted no time and proceeded to approach Kelli. At that point, Kelli suddenly felt that something was not right. She panicked and thought that something bad might have happened to her husband, but she assured herself that she had nothing to worry about. However, she was a bit surprised when the officer asked for the car keys. She handed them over. It became clear that the officer was inquiring about her. But she was confident that all the officer would find inside her car would be sand and dog hair.

What would the other parents think?

They were just outside of the school’s premises, and any minute, the class would be over and her child would come running looking for her. She was concerned about the other parents looking their way. What would they think if they saw her car being searched by a police officer? Kelli thought that those parents, who have entrusted their own kids to her for years, might never treat her the same way again.
