Living In Paraguay

Jiménez was a known businessman whose business was in heavy debt. He decided that he would fake his death rather than answer for the supposed almost $150,000 he owed to others. 16 months later, he was found alive after he arrived in Spain from a flight coming from Brazil. He was arrested and said to have been living the whole time in Paraguay, while his poor wife was left with their son and infant daughter.

John Stonehouse

John Stonehouse was a British politician who served as the Labor Minister of Parliament in the 50’s, but apparently, that wasn’t the only thing he was doing. While being a reputed government official, he had dabbled in bad business and when he found out that Department of Trade and Industry started checking out his affairs, he decided to fake his death via drowning, and bring his money along with him, taking on a new identity as Joseph Markham.
