When the Japanese embassy in Bangkok received the death certificate along with the assumed ashes of Ichiro Ogushi, they decided to look at all the evidence and they were able to determine that the certificate was actually a fake. And while they attempted to see if the ashes were actually his, all the tests came back were inconclusive. Ogushi was eventually found and tried for his crimes.

Philip Sessarego

The story of Philip Sessarego is probably one of the strangest ones out there. Sessarego was in the Royal Artillery of the British Military and he had been attempting to join the SAS, which was a special branch called ‘The Regiment.’ He was banned from trying out again after failing twice. It would seem that he couldn’t take the rejection and he chose to pretend to die while in Bosnia after he detonated a landmine on purpose.
