Flight To Disaster

With nowhere to go and his life on the brink of complete ruin, Michael Schrenker decided he was going to pretend to die by flying his plane over the Florida bayou and crash, resulting in his alleged death. The truth was that he ejected and parachuted to safety in an area where he had stashed a motorcycle, while his plane crashed 200 miles further from where he made his getaway. Just 10 days later, he was found in a campsite after someone had received an email from him. He was given 10 years in jail for his crimes and is still serving time.

Ichiro Ogushi

Japanese national, Ichiro Ogushi, owned a trading company that was basically going down the drain. It was reported that his business was in major debt so he wanted to fake his death with the help of a friend, Sumika Tomiyasu, who lived in Thailand. His plan was to have his friend get the ashes of another human and say that they were his. He had a life insurance policy supposedly worth $5.8 million, and his idea was to cash in on it.
