He Was Happy

In spite of Ricky’s appearance being quite sallow, mostly from never being allowed out in the sun, as well as looking quite thin, they said that he was mostly happy. Sgt. Diggs’ continued, “He was very happy to be outside. He said he never goes outside. Surprisingly, Ricky is in very good spirits. For someone who’s been isolated in that house with no other outside beings, he’s a very social, very polite, very talkative little boy.”

Allowing The System To Work

For Michael, knowing that his son was alive and well, but had been locked up for almost two years, was overwhelming at best. Michael shared how he wanted Ricky to be back in his arms, safe, so that he could finally take care of him. But he knew he had to wait. He explained, “It’s hard to sit back and watch things happen when you’re used to making things happen. But I just bided my time and let the system work.”
