Not only were Diane Dobbs and her fiancé charged with ‘aiding and abetting’ a felon, Ricky’s mom Shannon was up against a ‘child abduction’ charge, something that had heavier consequences. In fact, Dobbs still insists that Michael abused his son, saying, “There’s never been a thorough investigation [on Michael]. That’s what this family wants.”

Extra Charges Of Neglect

Shannon would then be further brought up with charges of neglect. According to the judge who was overseeing the case, Ricky not being allowed to go to school, go to the doctor, spend time with peers, or basically have a normal life for a child, was considered ‘neglect.’ This would make the possible sentence against Shannon longer than if it had just been ‘child abduction.’
