Last Time She Saw Him

Given the fact that he had a wife and children, the police caught up to Denise in Defuniak Springs to question her about the ghastly turn of events. She told them that it had been on June 23, a week before his body was found dead on the boat, that she had last seen him. And given the strange circumstances surrounding the timeline, police were already wary of her story.

Questioning Her Multiple Times

The authorities would continue to badger Denise about that day, having her go over her story again and again. They had to admit that many times, there were a number of inconsistencies in what she said happened that day. And they weren’t the only ones who believed that she was at fault, they just didn’t know who else thought the same thing then too. But they would find out soon enough.
