They Had Enough Evidence

Finally, after five long years of investigating, interviewing, gathering information and talking to the right people, the police finally had enough evidence against Denise Bozarth to finally charge her with first-degree murder against her very own husband. They took her into custody on March 21, 2012, and that’s when she would finally admit to killing him, but she claimed that it was all in self defense. She said that her husband supposedly would hit her before, and this time, he had threatened her with a gun, which is why she fought back with a hammer, killing him instead.

What Finally Did Her In?

According to Deputy Becky Herrin of the sheriff’s department, “Denise Bozarth had told several people about her husband’s inheritance and how she would be the beneficiary if he died. We verified that was true,” which in turn was how they got her to admit to everything. Sheriff Bob Peryman had made a statement saying, “I’m excited about the outcome of the investigation and I couldn’t be prouder of all the agencies who worked this from start to finish.” They finally had their guy, and it was whom they had suspected the entire time.
