13. Itching
When too much bilirubin accumulates in the body and skin of a patient with pancreatic cancer, the body begins to seek other ways to get rid of it, and usually, this comes in the form of sweat. Bile salts are formed when the excess bile that comes out through sweat begin to crystalize and settle on the skin. These crystals are believed to induce a reaction similar to an allergic attack, causing the body to secrete histamine, a known compound that induces severe itching and hives.
