7. Low Blood Sugar

Pancreatic cancer is disease that affects the cells of the pancreas which serve a number of purposes, one of which is insulin production. The disease causes abnormalities in production of the said enzyme which regulates blood sugar levels by allowing the cells of the body to absorb glucose from the circulation. Pancreatic cancer can cause insulin levels to drop, causing a condition similar to diabetes where in blood sugar levels are high. Oppositely, the disease can also make its endocrine cells produce more insulin, which pulls too much sugar into the cells, dropping blood levels dangerously low, a symptom of an insulinoma, a tumor that produces insulin.

When this happens, a patient may experience symptoms such as weakness, confusion, sweating (cold), and palpitations.
