Being hungry often, even after just finishing a meal, is a condition called polyphagia, one of the 3 main signs of diabetes, a condition that can be mimicked by the lack of insulin production by the pancreas due to cancer.

This increase in hunger and appetite is due to the cells lacking the energy it needs because of the body’s inability to absorb glucose from the blood due to the lack of insulin. Eating will not make you feel better but will only add to the already high amount of glucose levels in the blood, creating a dangerous cycle.

Excessive hunger usually happens in the earlier stage of pancreatic cancer. However, as the disease progresses, a patient will eventually lose his appetite, later leading to weight loss.
