Another type of pancreatic tumor is glucagonoma, a type of abnormal cell growth that produce and secrete glucagon. Glucagon is a hormone that regulates sugar levels in the blood and works as the opposite of insulin by increasing blood sugar levels through the conversion and release of stored sugars back into the circulation.

Aside from causing spikes in blood sugar levels, another symptom of glucagonomas also cause people to seek consult with their doctors. It is a red rash accompanied by swelling which appear in different places all over the skin, scientifically known as necrolytic migratory erythema.
