The Springhill house rests in a plantation where George Lenox-Conyngham took his own life in 1816. It has since become one of the most haunted places in the country. One of the most notorious ghostly apparitions was a tall lady in a black dress. She was thought to be Olivia, the widow of Lenox-Conyngham.

If you’ve come across the image of the legendary Brown Lady coming down of a staircase, it was taken in the Raynham Hall. It was built in 1637 is widely known to be haunted, especially by the ghost of Lady Dorothy Walpole who died there in 1726. It was believed that the ghostly Brown Lady was Lady Walpole.
