16. The Lawang Sewu House, Central Java, Indonesia

The Lawang Sewu house is a large colonial-era house in Central Java, Indonesia. It is a historic home that also hides a dark past. Ghost sightings are regular here, and one of those that have been frequently witnessed was the ghost of the Dutch lady. The house was the subject of a documentary where a ghost was claimed to have been captured on film.

17. The DeFoe House, Suffolk County, New York

The DeFoe house is also known as the Amityville house and is the subject of a few horror movies based on the events that took place here. The house was where the massacre of the DeFoe family took place, the perpetrator of which was their own – Ronald DeFoe Jr. In 1975, the Lutz family moved into the house but immediately left 28 days later after they have reportedly been experiencing paranormal events during their stay.
