Don’t Disrespect The Māori
New Zealand is home to a native people known as the Māori. This indigenous group was the first on the land before Europeans arrived, after which they were able to create a pact known as the ‘Treaty of Waitangi’ that allowed them to live in peace. The Māori have their own sacred land, their own rights and language – which is also called Māori – and they are to be respected by everyone at all times.
