Getting What He Deserved

Josef received a life sentence in 2009 after admitting to imprisoning his daughter and 3 children, for incest and fathering 7 children with his own daughter, for 3,000 counts of rape and for negligent homicide. But for some reason, this monster was told that he could possibly request for parole after only serving 15 years of his life sentence. This is after he already had a former guilty conviction for raping a nurse when Elisabeth was only a baby. Fritzl himself holds on to the hope that possibly one day, he may be free. For the sake of Elisabeth and her children, many pray his dream of being set free never comes true.

What Now?

After all was said and done, Elisabeth and her children were required to receive extensive psychological treatment. In order for them to adjust to life outside the cave, after some time spent out in the world, they had a container set up which they could go back to. This was especially useful to the two younger boys who had never even seen or felt the light of the sun before. Felix, the youngest of the bunch, even hums a song to himself at night, possibly something Elisabeth used to sing when they were still imprisoned. Chief Inspector Etz had said about it, “It can’t be called a good-night song really, as there was never any night in the cellar.”
