15. Iraq
Iraq, officially known as the Republic of Iraq, is a country in turmoil. Located in Western Asia, bordered by Turkey, Iran, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Syria to the west, Iraq is an unstable dangerous destination for travellers as it’s a country torn between a great past and its current cycle of violence. The semi-autonomous Kurdish region, though, is slowly opening its doors to tourists after many years of oppression and persecution attracting visitors with its imposing mountains, lakes and the warmth of its hospitable people.
