20. Pakistan

Pakistan, officially the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, is a South Asian federal parliamentary republic currently experiencing political instability but blessed with abundant natural and historical locations that interest tourists. The tourism industry has suffered since the start of War on Terror in 2001 making crime, suicide bombings and gang warfare common issues in the country. The city of Karachi is one of the centers for this kind of violence and tourists are encouraged to avoid travelling there. Most governments around the world advise against all travel to large areas of the country, and in some occasions foreign visitors are required to have an armed escort. The most popular destinations in Pakistan are  Lahore, The Karakoram Highway, Karimabad and Lake Saiful Muluk. In order to travel to Pakistan, visitors need to provide all the required information on the application form, plus a formal invitation letter from a host in which the reason for the visit is explained, and an itinerary and roundtrip flight ticket needs to be presented as well.
