Immediate Shock

Robert didn’t come out looking like any other adorable baby. His legs were deformed and there was a giant tumor between his eyes. “The tumor formed really early during my development,” he recalled. “So it subsumed my nose and pushed my eyes to the side of my head, like a fish, and made a mess of my face, as you’d expect.”

Unexpected Problem

Robert’s parents had four perfectly healthy and normal-looking kids. When he came out with a slew of problems, nobody really knew what to do. In fact, his mom didn’t see him immediately after birth. He was wheeled into intensive care. Mary immediately knew that something was wrong since it was an extremely difficult labor for her.
