It was a difficult time for the couple. Mary kept a diary of what had happened and how she felt. She described Robert’s appearance in vivid detail, but she noticed that his siblings didn’t seem to mind. They didn’t hesitate when it came to bringing him home. It was already assumed for them.

Honest About It

As Robert grew up, Mary made sure that she was honest with him all throughout. She never lied about her feelings. In fact, she gave him access to her diary. While she did come to terms about how he looked, she told him how she didn’t want to bring him home at first. Surprisingly, this never affected him because he knew that at the end of the day, she loved him in her own special way.
