Abandonment

Mary had seriously contemplated on abandonment. A staff member in the hospital actually suggested that he be put in a home. She was torn. Yes, Robert was her son and responsibility, but at the same time, she simply couldn’t bring herself to gaze at his face. She knew she had to do something, and instead of making a rash decision, she spoke to her family first so that they could come to an agreement.

Decision Made

Mary and Vince spoke to the rest of the family. They asked their children what they wanted to do about Robert and they finally came to a decision: they would keep him. It took a lot of soul searching from Mary’s side, but in the end, the heart of a mother won. They took Robert home in the sleepy bayside suburb home in Wynnum.
