Unfit For Human Habitation
With over 5 million people living in nearby areas and either directly or indirectly affected by the explosion and radiation exposure, the first place they had to evacuate was the nearby town of Pripyat, that had 47,0000 men, women and children living there. It was even reported, “Belarussian estimates say this area will be unfit for human habitation until the year 2176. Until then, it should be considered an exclusion zone.”
