5 Million People Affected

There are conflicting reports about the number of people that actually died due to the Chernobyl Disaster. While it’s said that the overall number of people affected was over 5 million all in all, the actual death count was much less than that. While 4,000 are known to have died from radiation, another 800,000 were directly exposed to radiation from the massive clean-up efforts, and another 70,000 were disabled.
