400 Times More Radiation

Although the Chernobyl Disaster had fewer people die during the actual explosion at the plant, it released ‘400 times more radioactive material into the Earth’s atmosphere than the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima’ at the end of World War II. Therefore, the long term effects of Chernobyl have continued to affect Ukraine and the surrounding areas until today.
