Dead Leaves Don’t Decay

In the following months after the explosion, everything within a few mile radius seemingly died, leaving everything within its wake almost like time just stopped. And in an even stranger turn of events, the fallen leaves and dead trees now no longer decay and now just lay there for years on end.
