Leaving The Mall

On November 22, 2003, Dru had finished her shift at Victoria Secret around 4 p.m. and decided to pass by Marshall Field’s on the way out. While there, she purchased a bag and decided that she was done with her shopping. While walking out of the mall, a surveillance camera captures her on the phone. She was apparently speaking to her boyfriend, Chris Lang.

Lang had said that they had been talking for about 10 minutes when Dru said, “Okay, okay,” then suddenly ended the call. Because Dru didn’t seem distressed, he thought the line just got cut and didn’t bother to call back. But at 7:42 p.m. Chris received another call from Dru’s cell phone, but it wasn’t Dru talking. In fact, it sounded like it was just a bunch of buttons being pressed and a bit of static.
